Recurring

In This Article

The Recurring section is dedicated to Jobs that automatically repeat on a regular basis. This is useful for non-unique, regularly occurring Jobs, e.g. a weekly maintenance contract.

You will be initially presented with a table of all currently active Auto-Recurring Jobs.

Table Views

There are 4 view tabs at the top to choose from. The first 2 show Jobs in your active database.

Active - The default view. This view lets you see all Jobs that were accessed/modified in a chosen time period using the Range options at the top. Defaults to showing all Auto-Recurring Jobs.

Completed - Auto-Recurring Jobs that have been worked and closed.

These last 2 views show Jobs that you have chosen to remove from your active listings for organisational reasons.

Archive - Auto-Recurring Jobs that you wish to remove from the main in-use database but not delete.

Recycle Bin - Auto-Recurring Jobs you no longer wish to keep in your system at all.

New Recurring Job

Select this option at the top right to bring up the Add Auto-Recurring Job form.

The left side (and Visit section) of the form is exactly the same as when you create a regular Job.

The Clone Recurrence Settings are the key addition here to regular Job creation and allow multiple options for repeating this Job automatically.

For example, you could have a Job that:

  • repeats on the first day of the month for 12 months.
  • repeats every day for 2 weeks starting on a specific day 3 months from now.
  • repeats every 3rd Tuesday exactly 7 times.
  • repeats weekly forever.

Note that choosing no end date for your recurring Job (ie. repeating 'infinitely') does not create infinite Jobs. Instead it will generate an initial set of 10 Jobs and create a new one after a Job has passed in order to replace it. This avoids overloading the system.

Review your chosen recurrence settings in this next form page. You can see the list of Jobs by date that will be created on the right. If happy then select Create Recurring Job and if not then go Back to Details.

The Jobs will then be added to your system and can be found ready to go in your Jobs section.
