Lesson 3: Booking A Holiday (and more)

To finish up our series of tutorials on using the schedule, we'll book in a holiday.

While not critical to using TrackTrade, being able to book in things like holidays, meetings and sick days can still be very useful for seeing the big picture, seeing available Staff and times and being able to book in Visits as accurately and efficiently as possible.

The more fully and accurately we can block out time, the easier it will be to book Visits with minimal fuss and avoid having to reschedule items.

Booking a Holiday

It's real simple and if you've been following along you'll have already seen how to do it.

Let's say our man Steven is on holiday between Monday 23rd and Sunday 29th. A well-deserved week in Alicante for a hard worker!

We head on over to the Monthly view, find the Pest Control group as before where Steven can be found and scroll across to the dates we need. Click and drag and, this time, we choose Add Holiday/Meeting.

We choose Holiday from the dropdown and add in his destination as an optional note.

Finally, we get the chance to tweak any of the details. You can see by default TrackTrade excludes weekends from being counted as holidays but depending on the type of work you can easily toggle that off to include them instead, Also of interest is that for both Holidays and Sick leave, you can have TrackTrade record those onto the Staff member's timesheet which may be very handy for your records.

We're happy with the options so hit the Book 5 Days button and it's done!

Beyond just Holidays, you can mark Staff time as Meetings, Sick leave or Other (for miscellaneous things such as Birthdays, appointments, emergencies, etc.)

You've now seen the main features of the Schedule page in action.
